A UK first edition, first impression.

WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright and complete. It is unclipped. The front and back panels are clean and unfaded, showing rubbing to the edges and corners. The spine is bright, showing light bruising and gentle scuffing to the ends. The spine is gently toned. There is a sticker on the front panel which reads : ' vivid, tough and honest ' James Baldwin. Looks sharp.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean, the corners are sharp. The spine ends are bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are sound, they are slightly dusty and the leading edge shows light and occasional flecking. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
