A US first edition, first impression.
WRAPPER: The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright and complete. It is unclipped - showing the price $2.00 on the inside flap. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing light soiling and gentle rubbing to the edges and to the corners. The cream background on the spine has faded. The spine is soiled and has been internally reinforced at the head. The back panel is sound, showing wear at the top edge and a thin band of fading along the spine crease.
BOOK: The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are bright and very clean. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are gently toned with age. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
