Wells, H G - The Time Machine

A UK first edition. Original cream cloth titled in purple, with the Heinemann publisher's device ( in purple ) on rear board. With the title page dated 1895 and with 16 pages of adverts at the rear - first book advertised on the first page is Donovan Pasha, the first book advertised on the second page is The Manxman. The book is square and tight. The boards are, inevitably, gently soiled. The purple lettering and design on the front board is bright. The corners are sharp. The spine has darkened a little and the spine lettering is dulled. The pages are clean - no foxing. The closed page edges are unmarked. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy.
