A wrappered uncorrected UK proof ( Advanced Reader's Copy ). The Wrappper : The wrapper is complete and bears the price 8s. 6d. on the inside flap. It is rubbed to the edges and lightly chipped at the spine ends. The white back panel is slightly toned at the edges.

Book : This is a clean copy without previous ownership inscriptions. The covers are sound and without ugly creases. They show light toning along the edges. The spine is a touch faded and is gently rubbed at the ends. The pages are generally clean - the opening few pages are spotted. The closed page edges are toned with age. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges or loose pages. Given the fragility of proof copies - particularly of this vintage - this is in decent condition.
