WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright unfaded and complete. It has been clipped, with the price having been carefully cut away. Both panels show spotting - the rear panel more so than the front. There is restoration to the head of the spine including tape reinforcement. Looks bright.

BOOK : The book is square and tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are smart. The spine ends are a touch bruised. The text block is very clean, with just one or two faint spots to the upper and lower edges. There are no dog-eared or loose pages. The binding is tight. A smart first edition reimagining the life of an unknown girl whose death mask was discovered in the Seine in 1919.
